Last month I turned 27 and I can say that all things considered, my heart felt incredibly full during all the celebrations. The weekend before my birthday I spent with family and close friends sharing a meal, drinks, and cake. The following weekend I spent in Austin with the best friend and basically did the same thing...meal, drinks and cheese.
I typically write out a long list of things learned through the year, but this year will be different. What I can say is that this was a year of healing. Our friends shared a tweet by Ebonee Davis saying "Spent 2017 healing things I didn't even know were hurting." and I couldn't think of a better way to describe 2017.
Right now, right this minute, I am happy. I am happy with where I am at in life. I am happy in the loving relationship I am in. I am happy with the friendships that remain. I am happy with the friendships that are no longer. I am happy with the things that did not happen that I thought were supposed to. I am happy with the things that have happened that I did not expect. I am happy with what life has given me this year and the things it did not even when I felt entitled to them and I am grateful.
Cheers to 27!
